Hearth to Hearth Ministries
Hearth to Hearth Ministry is now a ministry for widows and orphans. We are now caring for over 500 orphans, but that is not how we started. Hearth to Hearth Ministries started out as a ministry for women by women it was like letters written from in front of one fireplace (hearth) to another. This was done with a magazine that came out every other month. The purpose of this site is to feature those magazines. Click on the links below to read them.

Hearth to Hearth Ministries is run by volunteers in America that are working
to find sponsors for orphans and orphanages. The
orphans and orphanages in Africa are also taken care of by volunteers. The
women that received Hearth to Hearth Magazine wanted to help these orphans and
finally Hearth to Hearth Magazine was discontinued and the staff put there time
into making the Spotlight on Orphans newsletters and finding sponsors for the
orphans and orphanages. Follow one of
the links below to learn more about Hearth to Hearth Ministries as it is today and see a
Spotlight on Orphans newsletter.

Below is an article that was printed in 8/05 Hearth to Hearth Magazine.
Lemmings are hamster-like creatures that live in the Artic. They are small,
cute, and fuzzy, and, unfortunately (at least according to legend), they have a
peculiar habit of following the lemming that is leading the way. Consequently,
if the lead lemming just so happens to run off the edge of a cliff into the sea,
thousands of these little creatures will follow
and plunge to their deaths. Whether truth or legend, it illustrates the way many
people decide how to live their lives
and, too often, end them.
Just like the legendary lemming, one third of the angels in heaven followed the
covering cherub, who was known as
Lucifer, in rebellion against God. They did battle against the Archangel,
Michael, ending up being cast out of heaven to
the earth below. [See Revelation 12:3,4a; Isaiah 14:12; Ezekiel 28:15-17;
Luke10:18.]
Humans tend to have the characteristic of desiring to copy what others do, even
adopting wrong habits or behaviors that appear to be pleasurable because Satan
casts his illusion over our minds. We will often follow the leader we have
chosen, and plunge headlong into the trap of a self-destructive lifestyle.
God stated it plainly for us in the sixth commandment, “Thou shalt not kill
[murder].” (Exodus 20:13) Not only are we not to murder our fellow man, but we
are not to kill ourselves either. The consequences of our self-destructive habits
and behaviors may not be immediately apparent.
Nonetheless, as the years pass our health suffers and incurable diseases, and
eventually death, result from the choices
that brought us temporary pleasures. Thou shalt not kill [murder].”
Summing it up in four words, God made it plain enough for everyone to
understand, and yet the world is full of those who express the praises of those
devices by which they are destroying themselves. Some people even go so far as
to say, “Well, at least I will die happy.”
I challenge anyone to go to a hospital ward and visit with those who are lying
on their deathbeds as a result of their destructive choices. Listen to see if
they are uttering those words as they die. See for yourself if anyone is
“dying happy.” Instead you may hear words of regret about a wasted life, and how
they wish they had not allowed drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or other ruinous
substances and habits to rule their lives.
Though the penalty of our choices may leave some indelible scars, sorrow and
regret do not have to be the only ultimate outcome. It is possible for us to
change the direction of the path we may be currently traveling. It is possible
for us, by the grace of God, to repent and to conquer bad habits of living, and
be released from the bondage of Satan. We must make the choice for ourselves.
Do we want to be Satan’s lemmings, or do we desire the yoke of Christ? Are you
tired of carrying a heavy load of behaviors that are killing you? Are you
burdened by habits from which you cannot recover on your own? Jesus can take
away those burdens and give you abundant life in Him You are precious in the
sight of God, and He wants you to know that. “Come unto me, all ye that labour
and are heavy laden,” He entreats, “and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon
you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest
unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew
11:28-30)
